Github Overview

  1. You can read more about how Github works at https://guides.github.com/
  2. Create a Github account (use a professional username, such as your initials and last name. Use all lowercase.
  3. Add a repository called “ifsc-1310” or “ifsc-3342” depending on your course. Use all lowercase. Be sure that “Public” and “Add a README file” are checked, then click “Create Repository”. You should have a “README” file in your repository. Leave your github browser tab open.
  4. Select “Settings” from the menu (Open in new tab).
  5. Scroll down to “Github Pages”. On the Source value, click the dropdown and select “master branch”, then click “Save”. It will take a minute or two before your repository is published. You should be able to see the page at https://yourusername.github.io
  6. Submit your repository URL on this page: https://forms.gle/RnyJRBM5wG6mYLYu8
